Official: Barcelona starting lineup against Atletico Madrid

Coming off a narrow, but inspiring 2-1 win against Porto in the Champions League, Barcelona will now take on Atletico Madrid at home in La Liga. Diego Simeone’s men are one of the best teams in Europe right now, led by Antoine Griezmann.

Xavi has made no changes to the lineup from midweek, with man of the match Joao Cancelo lining up at left-back over Alejandro Balde. Inigo Martinez and Jules Kounde retain their spots in central defence, while captain Ronald Araujo starts as the right-back.

This back-four will have the responsibility of guarding Inaki Pena in goal, who gets his third consecutive start in a row after Marc-Andre ter Stegen picked up a back injury on international break.

Ilkay Gundogan retains his spot in defensive midfield, partnering Frenkie de Jong and Pedri in the middle of the park. Oriol Romeu has been benched once again, but could make an appearance later in the second half if push comes to shove.

Finally, Raphinha has been picked over Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal on the right-wing, while Joao Felix starts on the other side of the attack, hoping to hurt his parent club tonight. Robert Lewandowski is unsurprisingly the final piece in the puzzle as the no. 9.

Confirmed Barça XI: Pena; Kounde, Araujo, Martinez, Cancelo; Pedri, Gundogan, de Jong; Raphinha, Lewandowski, Felix
