Marcus Rashford signed his contract this afternoon to become a new FC Barcelona player, although an official announcement has been delayed.
The 27-year-old forward arrives on a loan deal from Manchester United, which includes a €30 million purchase option.
However, the announcement has taken longer than expected, generating widespread anticipation that will soon come to an end, but the official confirmation has been delayed due to some minor issues.
Rashford’s presentation plans
Now, according to SPORT, the official announcement of Rashford’s transfer to Barcelona is imminent.
As per the update, the England international will be presented as a new Barça player on Wednesday at 18:00 in a private event inside club president Joan Laporta’s office.
Rashford will then visit the Barça Store at Camp Nou, where he is expected to pose with the club kit and potentially speak to the media.
If so, the presentation format would be following the exact same model used for Lamine Yamal’s renewal and No. 10 shirt announcement earlier this month.
As is customary, a large number of people from the player’s inner circle are expected to attend.
Rashford’s brothers, who led the negotiations with Barcelona, will be present, along with agent Arturo Canales, who played a key role in brokering the deal and ensuring both clubs reached an agreement.
In the evening, as per tradition, Rashford, his family, and several board members will dine at an exclusive restaurant in Barcelona to celebrate the transfer.
Even though the transfer was not announced today, the forward completed his first full training session with his new teammates in the afternoon, after doing individual work in the morning to avoid the risk of injury before the signing was finalised.
